Tinkerbell Is a Whore

OK, she's not a whore. But didn't she try to poison Wendy because Peter Pan liked Wendy better than her?

Brian took the boys to McDonald’s this weekend, and they got another of those lame Walt Disney figurines. This time, they both got Tinkerbell, and Ben was so mad he wanted to throw it away. But since it goes against every moral code and value of a five year old to throw any toy away, he decided to give it away.

“Why don’t you give it to Isabel?” I asked. She’s our five year old neighbor.

“No, I’m going to give it to a boy,” he said.

“Well, if you don’t like it, what makes you think another boy will?”

An hour or so later he appeared at the kitchen table, Tinkerbell in hand.

“Mom, why is Tinker bell so pretty?”

“I don’t know, why do you think she’s pretty?”

He looked at her for a moment. “Because... her makeup and her wings and her chest and her skirt. That’s why she’s pretty.”

Oh my God, did he just say her chest?!

Tinkerbell

“So does this mean you want to keep her?”

“Yeah, I’ll keep her in my bedroom.”

“Great.”

For now, any woman that attracts my son with her chest and mini skirt is a whore. Hopefully by the time he reaches high school, I'll be able to handle it with a little more diplomacy.

Har, har. That Tinkerbell IS a floozy, ain't she? Now that you mention it, aren't a lot of Disney gals on the, er, LOOSE end? - Arial from "The Little Mermaid" - nothing comes between her and her sea-shells... Pocohantos - who says deerskins can't be sexy? - Esmerelda - gypsy slut - and the queen in "Snow White" - evil looks good...

What does that say about what Disney is trying to sell, HUH? And the scary thing is (using your son as an example) it's WORKING!!

*self-righteous sniff inserted HERE*

Bwaa haa haa! You have me laughing out loud! It's just WRONG to hear those kinda things come from our little boys. With mine, it was this kissing scene in Star Wars that he wanted to imitate.

I love this! I had a nephew who wanted a Little Mermaid doll. It turns out he wanted this doll primarily to fondle it's chest. Yikes! Disney really isn't so wholesome.

The disney girls are all fantasy pinups, Snow white, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty all wrapepd up in corsets. But Tinkerbell has the edge. Small dress that magically doesn't ride up higher then it suppose to. Does she wear underwear? She is also a fairy. Fairies relate to magic. Magic interest most children including boys. So what if a boy learns to have an attraction to Short blond girls. Granted the wings may get in the way, but i'm sure they could magically vanish when they need to.

OMG ... are you kididng me ... tinker bell is too sexy for your kid ?? When I was 7 I was fantasizing about princess leia !! Disney does make their female characters appealing, but it does not mean that they are made to be whores and sluts ! c'mon. Is every good looking fit built woman that walks the street a whore ? What are they supposed to do make them all flat and ungly ? That would be fun to go watch and care about.

He's 5? been there, the little guy is curious about females anatomy.

As for tinker bell, she is both Disney whore and a girls spiritual or purely fun goal in life (it's the wings, not the cleavage - unless she's a lesbian?).

Mum, no need to be paranoid. So he said he likes her chest? do you? maybe he inherited that from mommy and all of a sudden she will deny that as well?

He was being honest, and assuming mommie was a champion liar in
the past - I can see why she
feels overly concerned for
her offspring (guilt much?).

Nothing to worry about, aside from some guidelines for dealing with aging children *shrugs* all is good.

I totally agree and boy, do you have some crazy stalkers reading your blog!! lol! You can pretty much tell their education level or age right away. Disney does sell sex and to who??? Our children, lovely isn't it? Keep on blogging wondermom!

If a little boy thinks about tinkerbell in that way. How would young girls react to tink, idealizing tinkerbell since she's "pretty." Planting the beliefs that's how they should look like is horrible. They need a new clothing for tink none the less.

Wondermom, remember that the way you talk about women affects the way your son will talk about them. When you call girls with "chests" and short skirts 'whores', there is a good chance your son will grow up to use this abusive language toward them and treat them accordingly.
As for the 1:39 post from Anonymous, your useage of 'who' instead of 'whom' is a blatant indication of your education level, to say the least.

Oh Kris, I realise this is some 6/7 years on from your post (and I do hope your little man has no interest in chests still as yet) but I just had to say that your post made me laugh!! As a mother of 2 boys myself, I think I can say with all honesty.....I'll have as little diplomacy as you when I'm dealt the situation.

As for the posts that are 'bullying', its sad people can't take life with some humour.
