I was addicted to Big Macs with my first pregnancy, and I gained 44 lbs as a result.

SO, needless to say...with the 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, I stayed far far far away from any fast food chains and didn't gain that much weight. Yippee for me!

Once the kids came, we only stop by any fast food drive throughs when we're running off somewhere during lunch time and that's very rare.

Good for you for putting your foot down! Hey, we're also from Boston.

Having lived on both coasts with babies, I find the east coast embraces fast food for kidlets more. We try to avoid it, but with our winters, the lure of the playground calls. And, when running late, the drive thru is our best friend. All in moderation. They now have "organic" coffee, why can't they have a special organic menu for the rest of us? Hmmm, do they have a suggestion box?

good for you. i hope it works. at least i hope you can find the balance between both worlds. that is my struggle. i too was a granola lovin vegan before i had kids. actually it happened when i got pregnant and "needed" chicken and ice cream (yes, simultaneously). never did i think, as i sported my hemp jeans and organic cotton t's, that i would look at my daughter and ask "cheeseburger?" it's nuts. it happens so fast. i have not yet broken up with mcdonalds but am happy to report it has gone from a weekly event to a bi-weekly event. i'll take solace in that for now.
